Q: What is the criterion of the TILLING screening area in a gene?

A: TILLING is a reverse genetics means, which need as more information as possible. Such as gDNA sequence, cDNA sequence and amino acids sequence. The conserved region of the target sequence can be determined by analyzed the homologous sequence of these basic sequences. The conserved region is the best target for TILLING screening. CODDLE software (http://www.proweb.org/coddle/) can be used for select the conserved regions and design primers.
